friday 5....

Ahhh, feels good to be back to normal. I still don't feel at home here but I suppose home is where you make it.

the good

1. that while we still have some missing favorites (southerncharm anyone?) we have managed to find a majority of our friends and favorites from JournalSpace.

2. the weather*person* is insisting that we'll be receiving 6 inches or more of snow this weekend. Clearly I am ecstatic over this.

3. Today is my brother-in-law Seths' birthday. He informed this morning that getting older means drinking Metamucil so he was having that with his breakfast. I'm sure that's what Sally gave him for his morning present - Metamucil all wrapped up.

4. For Christmas I bought Ryan a Craftsman tool chest/cabinet. It's pretty nifty and I knew he'd be surprised! plus I did NOT pay this price for it. I got a much better deal. However, I was told it would be in the Tuesday before Christmas and here it is January 9th and just now in.
For Christmas I wrapped up a picture of it. He was so excited that he went to the garage and spent half a day rearranging and cleaning the garage to make room for it.
I feel bad that his present wasn't in. The other day he was all in "I'm so over it..." mode but I said "hey look at this way, it's like you get 2 Christmas's" He's so excited now that it's here that he's trying to get off work early today so he can run home and get it. Ok that makes him sound stupid but he's really happy that it's finally here.

5. This week has been the first week of my "diet" (it's not a diet per se) and so far I've done really well. I've stayed away from the candy drawer (which my sister can attest to as being a very large drawer full of candy. In fact so far the only time I faltered was last night, we had wings, fries and I had a beer (michalobe ultra though) BUT I only ate 5 or 6 wings a 1/4 of my fries so that's better than normal.

the bad

1. that there's a possibility the weather*person* may be wrong. I want snow, lots of snow.

2. I didn't get to have lunch with my mom today :(

3. my lips are chapped. I seriously think there's something in chapstick that doesn't totally clear up chapped lips so that you become dependent on the stuff. How else would they make money?

4. Some really good friend's of my sister and brother-in-law, their little 2 year old daughter has cancer. This is just a really sad thing. She's going through chemo right now and the cancer is just in her arm, but keep them in your prayers.

5. I've come to realize I get on the defensive really easy and I need to start counting to at least a 100.

And just like old times: what's your good and bad?

Charm does have a space over here that she has made private. I did see a comment she left for Inneedofgrace and she is alive and well but apparently not opening her journal at the moment.

I miss her too.

soiled: yea it took me awhile to think of the bad

fijufic: yea I saw her. I really miss her posts. While maybe not always popular with the majority I always appreciated her thoughts and she kept to her guns, something not seen in a lot of people nowadays.

Good: My kids FINALLY went back to school!

BAD: They are talking about more rain tomorrow and freezing cold temps next week!

Is it spring yet?? LOL

I miss you too, Charm. (if you read this..)

My son says to please send us some snow on Monday so he won't have to go to school, LOL.

(We love snow too.)

First, beautiful profile pic :) I would love some snow. Just one good snow then I will be ready for spring/summer. No, this doesn't feel like home. But most of us are together again. That I am grateful for.

cherished: you don't need any more rain!

doanli: charm's on blogger but not journaling, her acct is private. I hope she starts blogging again.

NC: * thanks for the compliment.
* since our winter here last into March I'm good with several snowstorms. It's starting to snow right now and looks beautiful! If it's going to be cold I want snow otherwise there's no use for cold!
I do love warmer weather though.
*it is nice that most of us are here, I still miss the ease of JS. I have met some more new people though through blogger than I would have if JS were still up so that's a good thing, right?

yacky: yea, i just need to get back into my routine
toe thursday's and friday 5 :)

I miss Charmie too! Good luck on the "diet" thing. I've just been counting calories but not really changing my foods and I've lost some weight that way. But it's slow going.. When I eat too much salt I gain and then I freak out! Stupid scales.. lol

Have a great weekend Forest..

I thought it was common knowledge that lip balms are highly addictive. People laugh at those of us who say so, but... http://www.kevdo.com/lipbalm/ And we all know the Internet never lies!

Haha funny about Ryan. I got Chris a tool chest for his birthday and he spent the entire day in the garage, arranging and re-arraging making space and organizing. It's so funny. Women don't do that!

Good - the weekend is here!
Bad - Chris is still working and I'm starting to get bored all alone.

Have a great weekend.

The weather person has been wrong more often than not lately. But, it's snowing here right now, so it's all looking good to me!

yes, her candy drawer is huge...i love it and now that my 4 year old son found it, he loves it too. so did he get his tool chest all moved in?
good: staying inside today
bad: the foot of snow outside

Sounds like you got the perfect gift. :)

My oldest has been addicted to chapstick...I quit buying it for her because the dog would get it and chew it up when she left it laying around. Then for a while, she carried the tub of vasaline around. She's got OCD about it or something!

Good: getting Christmas stuff put away
Bad: hmm...perpetual daily messes of kids...will I really miss it? That's what I tell myself.

Thinking of that little 2 year old my heart literally burns for her and her family. m BTW you are NOT boring at all and congratulations on adjusting your diet. maggs

susananne: chapped lips are a pain in the butt

greeneyes: I'm not really on a "diet", just scaling my portions back and no fast food or pop. I normally eat what my husband eats (portion size and all - although he'll generally have 2 helpings) so I'm not really changing my food just how much.

judy: she must not like me to add me to her list of friends then :) I'm glad she is blogging though.

lunamor: I tell ya all the time how much smarter you are than me - here's another reason.

silvertag: yea and once they rearrange for the tool box then they have to rearrange the whole garage. I said I didn't care what he did as long as he left my side of the garage alone :)

SD: we were supposed to get 6-8 inches and got maybe 2, 3 if you count the rain/ice/sleet.

bingo: hey TP

morphine: it did look really pretty!! did you get some pictures of it.

sis: yea we spent friday night moving it in and yesterday "organizing" the tools

sikki: i'm more of a vaseline girl myself but it's hard to carry around the tub of vaseline in your purse. I can imagine the mess the dog makes with chap stick. ugh!

oldsold: you too

maggs: yea we'll see how well it goes.
I'll keep ya posted on the 2 yr old.
