so proud

I know this is going to sound kinda cheesy but I am so proud of my husband.
He works hard at his job, he's one of those men whose identity is somewhat in his work.
In fact when I first met him his work ethic is one of the things which drew me to him (among other things) which is kinda funny since when I initially met him he was laid off from his job but you can tell a lot about a man from his shoes right?!

Anyways, fast forward 10 years and yesterday he had his evaluation.
It's been almost a year long transition period for his new job title - just the actual pomp and circumstance of the promotion was this past fall. So he wasn't sure (nor was he expecting) he'd get a bonus since the title was just given.
Well not only did he get a "good job" from his boss but he also got an "atta boy" and "you've been an asset to the company" from the vice president of the company.
He is now salary and he is making quite a bit more than we thought he would plus he got a bonus that was way over anything we imagined especially since we weren't expecting anything.
Of course he was in a good mood yesterday! I'm so proud of him. He works so hard and while I tell him all the time how much I appreciate him and all that he does for us and I know he works hard - it was a total boost to his ego to have his boss and vice president acknowledge that too. I said "see. I told you!" he said "yea but you're my wife, you're supposed to say those things" :) but I wouldn't say it if it weren't true.

Then they all talked about the guys in the field (I won't get into detail) but it really is nice to know that he works for a company that cares about the so-called little people. Because honestly without them, the guys who do the hard physical labor, they (the office guys) wouldn't have a job. So for me to hear what the big boss's had to say in regards to keeping them working just put them up a notch in my book.

Anyways, I'm glad that I'm not the only one who notices how great my husband is.

That is really wonderful! I am happy and celebrating Ryan's recognition with you! :D

It just goes to show that if you put forth your best, people will eventually notice. I am glad they had the resources to give him tangible rewards in addition to the recognition. :)
