Weight
So I have now lost 20 lbs.
People have noticed that I have lost weight, they seem shocked when I tell them 20 lbs. I hid it well I guess. I'm just a mixture of embarrassed and proud. It's been hard work, some days good, some bad. I use the myfitnesspal app. I can enter my food and my exercise. It's really helped. The holidays, I let myself get a bit out of control so of course, along with most of the rest of the world, my resolution was to get back on track.
I've really only made little changes. I do still have ice-cream, wings, beer, skittles, cake... not all at once and definitely in smaller portions than before.
I'm doing better at drinking water throughout the day, in fact, when I don't drink as much I find myself craving it.
I have cut way back on my sugar intake and have watched the butter (I love butter on popcorn, toast, to fry with etc). Loaded baked potatoes and pizza with extra cheese are not a weekly staple anymore. I've found that I enjoy a baked potato with salsa (homemade from my garden salsa). I also quit putting cheese on my salads. I've started eating the Ezekial 4:9 bread, it's really not that bad.
So see, just the little things.
I still want to lose about 20 lbs - though I realize there's more than just the number on the scale. I should say that my body frame, height etc says I should lose 15-20 more.
I've found that the New Year's resolution people have dropped significantly from the early mornings at the gym. (Our gym opens at 5:30am.)Granted, they may go in the evenings or throughout the day. They'll be back, eventually. I hope.
I've started running. This is my third time "starting". We have a local race that seems to start off the races for the year - at least it seems to around here (and yes I realize people race year round). It's a half-marathon, relay, or a 5 mile walk. Last year a couple friends and I ran the 5 mile walk. This year I am doing the relay. Next year, I want to do the half-marathon. I'm also heading to my sister's a month later to take part in a 5k or 10k. Not sure which. I'll be running that with my brother-in-law. I'm pretty excited. I only wish my sisters enjoyed running as much as I do (this time haha). It would be nice to do races with them!
