friday 5....

So I haven't wrote anything this week. It's just been crazy and I've been pondering some stuff. Besides, I really don't have a whole lot going on right now.

the good

1. I love this site. I work in Photoshop daily and this site makes me laugh **and pray I don't ever see any of my work on there.**

2. I've been married almost 7 years, I've always handled the money, bills etc. Basically I give Ryan what he likes to call "an allowance" (we all know he knows how to use an ATM card). I've tried on several occasions to get him to know what's going on in our finances. I don't think that it's that he doesn't care but more "you got it handled" so I was gladly surprised when he wanted to know about our bills per month etc. I said jokingly "ok honey, i'll make you a spreadsheet" to which he replied "just email it to me when you're done" uh, you think he's used to the office life now?!
I won't be emailing it but I'll print it out for him to look at.
It'll be nice for him to see where all our money goes.
When I was discussing our Dish Network and Verizon bills with him, he seemed genuinely surprised at how much we paid a month. Duh! you want the extras - they don't come cheap.
So I'm making up a spreadsheet.

3. hanging out with one of my oldest best friends last weekend. We did a little shopping and went to the Olive Garden where I had the best Mango Martini ever! I wanted 2 but refrained.
Plus I finally bought a scarf (it's cool, all oranges, reds, purples) and then I had to buy another coat (cream colored) to go with the scarf. ok, I needed a coat to go with my browns and stuff since all I have is a gray coat. Besides they were like 70% off or something crazy like that. It was hard to pass up.

4. We're having taco's for dinner. I've been craving taco's all week. Homemade taco's not Taco Bell.
Dang it, I forgot to lay the beef out.

5. Ryan got an apt in the city he works in so this weekend we're going down to get it set up and whatnot. His company pays for it (yay!) along with the some of the utilities and a $1000 to furnish it. Quite frankly it's hard to furnish it for $1000 but that's ok, I'm not complaining. This will be better for him than living out of a motel room. I am calling this our "vacation" home. To bad it's not near a beach or mountain or something. Well, there is good shopping nearby.

the bad

1. it's supposed to get up to 40ยบ or more today (which is good) except that all our snow is going to melt

2. I didn't eat breakfast this morning. I've been doing so good at eating breakfast.

3. I've done horrible in my eating habits this week. Way over on my portion sizes. Nothing was done in moderation.

4. we pay off our credit cards every month. For Christmas I have a "christmas club" thru the bank. I put all my Christmas purchases on the card and then take out the money and pay off the card. Well I paid it online AND a couple days later I went in and paid it again. So that chunk o change came out of our checking acct twice. grrrr! Of course they can't just put it back they have to send me a check which could take 4-6 weeks. double grrr!

5. I need to clean out my closet (again) I just need to take all the clothes I haven't worn in the last year and give them to Goodwill or something. They're taking up precious space.

what's your good and bad?

Lord...

We do a spreadsheet on our finances and that Dish sticks out like a sore thumb. i wouldn't miss it really as long as I could find a way to watch certain stations online and hook it to my TV.

I have figured out a myriad of backdoors for movies

Glad you are posting.

I'm glad I did the spreadsheet. I've always known what we've spent a month on everything but seeing the grand monthly total is a shock. We're going to do away with the internet at home, I rarely if ever get online so we're paying quite a bit for that and we don't need to.

We don't get HBO or Starz or those channels on Dish so that makes the bill more bearable, it's crazy what they charge for those channels.

We did upgrade to HD though and qualified for $0 upgrade, she said it's normally at least $150 (I could've done without it, honestly I don't see a difference between HD and reg TV) but Ryan wanted it so it's $10 a month extra.

Mango martini sounds heavenly but booze is not on the diet :(

I remember when my ex realized how much we spent on groceries, he nearly had a cow. It ain't cheap to feed 5 people!

well in our "turbo challenge" this week we're to eat more fruits and veggies. the Mango Martini has mango puree in it.
in case you're wondering, yes, I am justifying the mango puree as a serving of fruit.
